Closet maid shelving is one of the most popular wardrobe alternatives to wood shelving. This coated wire shelving is available with enough accessories for any homeowner to design a closet storage unit. Its installation does not require more knowledge of the construction of what is needed to install wooden shelves or adjustable shelves. The shelving of the preformed wire, however, has diversities that the wooden shelf does not have. Rotate the wire shelf more than the lip at the front of the shelf up and install it at an angle to store shoe boxes, for example.
Mark the desired shelf height on the back wall of the cabinet. Place the wall fasteners on the markings and install them with the supplied screws. Measure the space between the side walls of the cabinet and cut the shelf with shears. Insert the shelf into the clips, hold it and put the carpenter level on it. Level the platform from front to back and mark the bottom of the wire shelf on the walls.

Remove the shelf from the clips. Position the side wall bracket to match the mark and trace the fixing points on the walls. Drill a pilot hole in the wall if the holes do not hit a stallion. The pilot hole must coincide with the anchoring of drywall needed to support the support. Insert the drywall anchor into the pilot holes. Align the holes in the brackets with the anchors and secure them to the walls with the screws provided. Insert the shelf into clips and clamps.
